The French Lick Resort Casino Officially Opened

The new French Lick Casino, Indiana's newest casino, officially opened its doors to the public Friday November 3rd, 2006 at 9 a.m., after the Indiana Gaming Commission (IGC) gave endorsement.

French Lick, the 42,000-square-foot casino, will be open 24 hours a day all year round featuring 1,202 state-of-the-art slot machines, 34 table games that includes blackjack, roulette, craps as well as a 12-table poker room for gamers who want to try their luck and bet at their favorite games.

The first public reservations at the French Lick Springs Hotel, which is part of the $382 million French Lick Resort Casino destination in southern Indiana along with the casino, took place together with the opening of the casino.

Over the past few weeks the hotel has undergone a "soft opening" period, thus had allowed the resort staff to continue training and ensure the highest service levels.

Previously on October 31st, an invitation-only VIP Casino Inauguration was held whence the first official dollar was played in one of the slot machines and VIP gamers pulled the handles and rolled the dice testing the gaming proficiency of the casino employees. The IGC conducted its audit after midnight after the gaming session.

Rooms at the French Lick Springs Hotel are taking reservations for future dates. For New Year's Eve, a lavish "Roaring '20s" themed gala is scheduled. Reservations are still available for the $695 per couple gathering.
