Tri-State to Hold Charity Nights on October 6th and October 7th to Test Games Like Craps

Officials of the Tri-State Racing Track and Gaming Facility hope to offer casino games like craps and roulette and other specialized casino table games up and running by October 9th, 2008. The owners of the racing track near Nitro plan to host charity gambling events on October 6th, 2008 and October 7th, 2008 to test the brand new gambling systems and casino dealers, according to Tri-State spokesperson Kim Lawrence.

Officials for the state Lottery Commission must give their approval on the gaming operations before Tri-State can offer the casino games to the public full-time. The Tri-State opened their first casino poker tables to the public last month. Kanawha County voters give their approval to the expansion of the casino table games at the racing track in August 2007.

Casino dealers will be testing games like craps, roulette, blackjack, three card poker, four card poker and Let It Ride from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. from October 6th, 2008-October 7th, 2008, Tri-State will make $5,000 donation to each four local charity groups during the test runs.

Track officials will raise money for the Kanawha Charleston Humane Association and city of Nitro Children's Handicapped Park on October 6th, 2008 and the Highland Hospital Indigent Fund and Kanawha Valley Fellowship Home on October 7th, 2008.
