Satsuko Fujitake Relives Husbands Golden Craps Run at the California Hotel and Casino

On May 26th, 2009, the wife of the Hawaiian man who possessed the record for the longest craps toss said that she was very surprised at the news that someone had finally surpassed her late husband's twenty year craps record-and it was a female craps players who was only playing the game for the 2nd time. Satsuko Fujitake jokingly said that she thinks that male craps players should be ashamed of themselves.

She added that the female player deserves a lot of credit. Fujitake's husband, Stanley Fujitake, called the "Man With the Golden Arm," held the craps at the gaming table for 3 hours and 6 minutes and one hundred eighteen rolls at the California Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas on May 28th, 1989. Fujitake's record was surpassed by Patricia Demauro of Denville, New Jersey, who held the craps dice for 4 hours, eighteen minutes and one hundred fifty-four rolls at the Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Saturday night.

Demauro bought into a craps game for $100 at 8:13 p.m., quickly attracted a large crowd of cheering supporters and eventually "sevened out" at 12:31 a.m. Satsuko Fujitake said that on her husband historic craps record, he bought into the game for just $50. She said that she noticed that her husband was still out at 4:00 a.m. and had not returned to their room, so she went to the gaming area downstairs to find him when she saw a huge crowd around a craps table. She could not see her husband so she asked what is going on. Someone told her that a player was having a lucky streak.

Satsuko Fujitake only learned that her husband was the one holding the dice after returning from playing at the poker machines. California Hotel officials stated that it had lost more than $1 million that morning. Fujitake said that her husband did not win a lot of money but there are others who won $100,000 by betting with her husband. She said that after an eventful day, her husband had several occasions when he held the craps table for one hour and a half and he became the head of the Golden Arm Club, whose members have held the craps dice for at least one hour at the California Hotel.
