Playtech Acquires Ash Gaming

The leading online gaming software and services provider acquires gaming developer Ash Gaming for up to £23 million.

Playtech finishes 2011 as it began it, by expanding even further, with the acquisition of Ash Gaming for up to £23 million.

Playtech believes the deal will strengthen the company's content library and create new revenue opportunities. Ash Gaming holds more than 30 licenses in slots and sports betting, and Playtech will use the acquisition to continue to provide licensees with amazing games and an unparalleled player experience.

Playtech has even bigger plans for 2012. In November, the company announced its intention to raise £100m to fund an acquisitions and ventures program, specifically targeting emerging markets.

This plan follows from Playtech's joint venture with William Hill, William Hill Online, which offers online casino games, sports betting and online poker. William Hill Online has been hugely successful and increased Playtech's profile significantly.

Playtech will also keep releasing stunning new games in 2012. The latest, video slot Cowboys and Aliens, is set to be one of the biggest releases of the year.
